BRUCE KIMURA, MD

Dr. Kimura is the medical director of the Echocardiography and Vascular Ultrasound Lab at Scripps Mercy Hospital.
He is also an associate clinical professor of medicine at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) School of Medicine.
Dr. Kimura received his medical degree from UCSD School of Medicine. He completed an internal medicine internship and residency at the University of California, San Francisco, and a cardiology fellowship at UCSD.
Dr. Kimura is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular diseases. An active clinical researcher in echocardiography, he authored a book and has published more than 30 scientific articles. He is internationally recognized for his contributions in hand-carried ultrasound. Dr. Kimura is a past recipient of the Ralph P. George Teacher of the Year Award, elected by the residents, and is a five-time recipient of the Sustained Excellence in Teaching Award from the house staff at Scripps Mercy.
He has received designation as San Diego's Top Doctors (San Diego Magazine) for two consecutive years as well as a Best Doctors in America designation.
